Let’s dive straight into the details. I owe each and every one of you backers an apology.
Astrial Pressings is a label I made with the intention to produce the highest quality of modern vinyl and combine that with stunning color combinations. The key to doing this effectively was a commitment to transparent communication. Recently, after reviewing community comments & speaking with multiple backers, I realize I have failed to meet that standard. For that, I am deeply sorry.
It has always been my priority to do right by the listener, and to give the best quality product. While a lot of issues delayed this project significantly, the most important thing is I just haven’t done a good job of communicating the timeline. I mistakenly thought that only providing updates when there was definitive news was the route to go. I have since learned that keeping you guys in the dark is unacceptable. Even an update stating “no change” is better than silence. For that I am truly sorry.
To give you guys full transparency, here is exactly where the project stands and how we are fixing our communication moving forward.
March 2025 - Project initiated (excluding the initial crowdfunding stage)
July 2025 - Master files were sent to BGM & confirmed
July ‘25 - April ‘26 - Nine months spent refining the audio to ensure pure sonic perfection
April 2026 - Final references were received & approved.
To fix these communication issues for both this project & future projects, we are implementing the following changes:
For Polygondwanaland: We will be uploading an update on the first Friday of every month. A new update each time, whether there has been movement or not, there will be one.
For Future Projects: Astrial Pressings, moving forward, will be retiring the pre-order / crowdfunding campaign to complete any projects. We will fund each project upfront & only list for sale when it is in hand and ready to ship. This will protect you, your money, and your worries, whilst also eliminating the need to update a project’s progress entirely.
Now for the good news: Polygondwanaland has been cut and is officially in route to QRP!!
We got the shipment notification and it is confirmed to be shipped via FedEx Priority Overnight, which is great news, as it means it should be instantly plated then on its way to GGR & Clampdown. With this notification, the hardest part has sailed. Working with QRP, they work extremely hard to ensure the lacquer gets plated immediately and shipped immediately. With this, I can cautiously say to expect these records by Q4 (October-December) for all Clampdown variants. I want to say the same for dunk! & GGR but I haven’t worked with them enough to fully grasp an expected timeline. Please know that, of course, this is subject to change and I will try my hardest to fully communicate everything better than I have.
To everyone who is tired, frustrated, and anxious: please know that I understand and your emotions, as they are completely valid. It is my sole responsibility as the owner of Astrial Pressings to keep you informed properly. Trust me when I say, this record will be worth it.
