Test Pressings are here! - Poly update (10/22)

This feels so surreal to say, but the finalized test pressings for our Polygondwanaland project are here!!

Two days ago, I was leaving work to see a UPS notification on my phone saying my package would be delivered the next day! It blew me away to finally see Clampdown’s tracking number pop up onto my lock screen. Then yesterday, they arrived! Beautiful & flat!!

I received 25 sets of Test Pressings from our Clampdown sets and we are (as I am typing this) cleaning them all! We will be taking the next week to listen closely to each side of each record. From Copy 1 Side A to Copy 25 Side D. All of it will be meticulously inspected from the run in to the dead wax! Rest assured, this will be worth the wait.

I wanted to take a second to really thank everyone who supported this project. Whether you bought a record, cancelled it, are monitoring it from the sidelines, waiting for it to be in hand, or even (rightfully) frustrated about the logistics surrounding this project, you all played a major part in this. Seeing the votes of confidence and passion behind every backer has helped me stay focused and dedicated, even when it seemed I needed to cancel the project. To every person I have damaged trust with, I hope to gain it back when this is done. To every person who reached out to express gratitude & support, you guys helped me so much. To everyone reading this, thank you genuinely. I promise we will never do a crowdfunding or even a pre-order ever again.

Now onto the bad news & specifics: With the later delivery of these TPs, I still am optimistic about these being in hand by December, however it is likely these will be completed & in your hands by Jan-February 2027. I am actively trying to get these through the doors in Vancouver, but I’d rather stay grounded & deliver bad news, than stay blindly optimistic when the odds are stacked against it.

Now to get really nerdy: These are fresh cuts from Bernie Grundman and each side contains a lyric etched into the deadwax from a song on that side. (i.e. Side A has “We head to our extinction, crumbling castle” etched into it). Side D also has the full version of “The Fourth Colour” & a locked groove repeating Han-Tyumi’s “hello” throughout. Below are pictures of the grooves & each side!

In celebration, after QC has concluded, we will be sending out some copies to some backers and releasing a chunk for sale! This is such a relief to see these things done and I am so very happy that we are here! Thank you all for your support & trust! I will be back when these are fully examined!!

With Love,

Cash Windham
